Hey guys,

I recently found out about AUTOart's recently announced model. I'm an avid Mclaren fan and just wanted to know weather it's likely to be worth the £150?

I own several AUTOart 1/18s; Miura SV, Diablo (6.0, roadster, SV and VT), Koenigsegg and others. I must say, the detail is not anywhere near as good as my kyosho 1/18s.

so, is it likely to be worth the £150?
Are AAs usually badly detailed? or have I just picked the wrong models?

Tah,

AUTOart are generally rather good. Better detail than Minichamps IMO.

They do take the piss with prices and release dates though. Is it worth £150? Have to see it before passing judgement.

I would not pay over £100 for the Veyron and CCX.

Out of interest (and sorry for the hi-jack) but does anyone make a plastic kit of the F1? Google seems more interested in the race (F1) cars than the F1 model IYSWIM

All the AA's i have are well detailed and in comparison to Kyosho, the level of quality and detail varies between car brands. I know alot of people who say kyosho BMW models are better than AA. I have the kyosho 1/18 clk dtm cabrio with removable roof, and whilst the detail is pretty good over all, the roof isnt too impressive. The AA millenium series are very well detailed and not that expensive for some of the models. I have the sierra cosworth 1/18, the detail, quality and different textures and materials are outstanding and you can pick it up for £40!. The AA sig series (ccx and veyron) are very expensive and unfortunately i do not have any experience with either, but judging by the millenium series cars i own and have seen, id expect the signiture series to be as good, if not better. I am waiting for the kyosho 1/18 f40 lw, from the pics it looks awesome, i will let you know what i think when i get it.

Moreover! the 70-£80 minichamps 1/18's i have seen such as 1970's 3series bmw touring car (exact name escapes me) is very well detailed, on a par at least with AA.

Sorry for the essay, but i wanted to share my experience. Hope it helps!

My collection is all Autoart/Kyosho - the detail and quality is absolutely first rate.

They are expensive but used examples of the popular ones make pretty much what they cost new on ebay. I can't see it being a bad investment.

I've ordered this one; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1-18-Kyosho-Ferrari-F40-F-40...

Apparently it has a button that makes the headlights pop up!

Its not the new 'high end version'. For me personally, spending at least another £100 for abit more detail on the exact same model would be "extra strength crazy"! But if one can afford it, then fair play.

Heres some more pics; http://p3.images22.51img1.com/6000/bingxianer87/33...

Very very nice! looks proper evil with black alloys.

Did you order it from the US? how long did it take to come?

Wonder if St. Martins in London have any in stock? Detail looks good to me...where is the button? on the underside?
