This is the Academy Admiral Graf Spee special edition in 1/350th. A really nice kit with wooden decks, Photo Etch, brass turned barrels for the main, secondary and heavy AA weapons. Quite pleased with the result.

I've since added some etched 20mm cannon as the kit ones were too clunky. In time I will also replace the twin 20mm's as well.

Nice - I like the tiny Arado floatplane.

WEll done - looks like another perfectly executed model. I particularly like the decks.

Have you ever considered modelling the Graf Zeppelin? Would make an interesting 'what if' subject with a few 109T's and Stukas on deck. I saw a huge scale version at the Hamburg Maritime Museum - it's an impressive beast, and seeing German WW2 aircraft on a carrier is a strange sight! I think they discovered the real thing fairly recently after its sinking after the war.

I have thought about the Zeppelin, particularly in 1/350th, but I have too many projects at the moment to even contemplate a complex scratchbuild.

1/35th?

Hope you can find a suitable hamngar to display it in. Apparently Cardington has one vacant.

Thanks for the nice comments.

As a little something different, this AFV Club 1/350 Type XXI U-boat was built in 8 1/2 hrs as part of Britmodellers Blitzbuild GB.

Thanks Nicholas, I thought I might have overdone the weathering, but having seen pics of U-Boats from the war, they did get into a terrible state.
