If the school was there before the complainers moved in surely this cannot be upheld?

Bell ends who complain about kids at school, they should be out working or doing something useful instead of sitting on their arses watching telly that time in the afternoon...

Nope. Read the Judges decision in the Croft case. "Coming to the nuisance" (moving next to a pre-existing "noisy" site) makes no difference.

When I worked shifts I was often sleeping - or trying to- during the afternoons.
I live close to a school and once did an excellent Mr Angry routine by marching up to the sports day announcer, and politely, but firmly, requesting he turned the fking volume down.

Agreed.

People are easily offended/after compo/worried that others may be having fun.

They deserve an eternity of being poked with sharp sticks.

I’m not sure which is more annoying. People who choose to live next to a school and then complaining about the noise. Or stupid comments about what people should be doing in their own homes.
Like another poster I work shifts. So afternoons I might be in bed trying to sleep or perhaps catching up on TG on one of my precious days off.

Maybe then you should invest in some soundproofing. Children play, and make noise. That's life. If you don't like it, move.

Seriously?

Why did they have to change what they were doing just for you? Surely that makes you just the same as the complainers in the original story? You try to sleep during the day, you've got to deal with the fact it might be noiser.

Like other posters, I too work shifts but I realise that the world doesn't rotate around me and use earplugs if needed.
