Whats wrong with your existing camera bag and taking it on as hand luggage.

If it must go in the hold. Peli Cases.

If you really want a flight case you can't go wrong with this:

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=36796

Decent quality for the money, lockable too. I have all my camera gear in it, but I don't actually travel with it. More of a handy storage box for me.

the camera bag i use is not big enouth for all my gear.

i can take a case on which is up to the dimensions 56cm x 45cm x 25cm (22in x 18in x 10in),
iv got several lenses and body plus other electricals to fit inside too.

I had one of those once but didn't get on with it, mainly because you have to put it down flat before you open it. You'll also lose a lot of space between the items - IMHO you'll get more kit per unit volume in a bag.

Another vote for Peli cases here. the 1510 is sized for flight use. Get TSA locks though, just incase the airline feels the need to open them up they wont have to snip them.

Hi
Having used Peli cases for many years you cannot beat them for strength, quality and robustness. Dont look at cheaper versions its not worth it .
Also with peli cases they have a lifetime warranty . Like the person above we have bought from www.waterproof-cases.co.uk
Speak to someone called Michelle she always does a good deal and they are always the best on price..

I have used CF Cases www.cfcases.co.uk in Rugby. They offer a good range from Explorer/Peli/Zarges and someone else SBK or SKB cant remember as well as supplying custom made flight cases.

They did me a really good deal on an Explorer 7641 with a removable soft case and two other divided liners. Not cheap but worth every penny. I used the case as a vault and could normally fit most stuff in the bag.

They do have a good range in stock and despite passing them every day for seven years I found what I wanted on their website without knowing what they actually sold.

This is why I like pistonheads- Bought some equipment that arrived today, and thought this morning ' really need a Peli case for this stuff' bu had no idea where to buy from.

Go on PH while I was having a cup of tea, and stumble across this thread! Thats an excellent link, and they have some very decent prices.

To the OP - i'd echo what the others have said about peli cases- they really are the business. Some come with the pick and pluck foam, where you pick cubes of foam out to make the shapes for your gear to sit it- this stuffs ok, but its a bit soft density wise. If your budget allows, theres a lot of places that'll CNC some higher density foam to the shape of your gear.- can really be worth it if you have expensive stuff
