ExFiF said: Have to say I'm back to hating this game, as soon as get in tier 4 TD get stuck in battles against multiple IS, KV-* etc etc etc.
Can't do any damage, get slotted instantly anyone gets in sight, only way to do anything is run and hide and hope for a lucky break on another minnow bumbling by, boooooorrrriiiiinnnnggggg! Unfortunatly the mid tier gameplay in this game can get very frustrating and boring. I think a lot of this has to do with the crap matchmaking system to be honest. You more often then not get put in matches where you are hopelessly outclassed and are just there to make up the numbers\cannon fodder. The light at the end of the tunnel is that if you persevere it gets better again, you just have to get through the long slog. They should try to fix this or make the mid tiers more interesting but I doubt they will. If I was a cynic I'd say they have done this on purpose to force you to start paying for gold\premium. They draw you in with the initial easy and fun low tier matches and then you realise that to get to the really good stuff, you either need to grind for months or pay to move up quickly.

Well that does it! That flaming well does it, in my favourite sniping spot, decent hard cover, just need to pop out and snipe a couple of shots and slide back, killed 3 higher tier and done a fair bit of other damage, while I'm pulled back because there is seven shades of crap being unleashed at the hard cover, grade A knob jockey races in parks in front in full view, gets slotted and ruins the position.
Off to play submarines, ballocks to it!!!! ah'm oot for a bit.

Grinding the VK3002 simply as it leads to both Panther and Tiger but is hopeless stock and needs 25k xp to get a half decent gun. On the other hand I have the JagdPanther that is probably over gunned for it's tier but is a lot of fun. Stick with it although I would tend to be using at least 3 different types of tank so you can adjust how you play and some are better than others at the same tier.

It is most gratifying when they fly off the handle and start having a go

So what is post death etiquette. If it was a game I was involved in, I hang around and try and provide help pointing out where I know people are (I mainly play lights scouting). If every one seam good I watch and see where they snipe, scout or hold ground.

If I have died quick I go and start another game. If I am one of the last few tanks and it is equal I tend to stay until the end and see how we do.
There seems to be a mix between he very vocal - play this my way type and those that get on with it and just do what they are good at or not.
I do wonder about artillery. Do people expect you to attack the other artillery or shoot tanks?

I made that mistake. To be fair, with a tank the scroll wheel on the mouse goes through to sniper view, but with an spg that doesn't happen - it was only by accident that I found arty view.

AM04ARO said: I do wonder about artillery. Do people expect you to attack the other artillery or shoot tanks? I play a bit of arty , up to the Hummel with a 57% win ratio on it , and I tend to follow this plan ... Start of the game move somewhere safe, trying to avoid the obvious places . Aim at the enemy obvious hinding places in god view , watch for tracers and wait for the enemy tanks to be lit up . As soon as I've got something definite to aim at I'll move to that. I prioritise the targets as follows. I usually aim for what ever target has the most HP left and in this order: Heavies TD Mediums Lights I only go for the kill if there is nothing better to aim at or if killing the tank is going to make a real difference. I think the idea of arty is to inflict as much damage as possible on the enemy so killing one light that is half dead is a lot less valuable than taking 50% out of a heavy plus some module damage and maybe tracking it. As for counter arty ... it's great if it happens but you can waste a lot of time looking for them . I tend not to bother unless I've got nothing else to do or they get lit up . As for avoiding it I usually move a bit between shots but not enough to upset my aim . If I get time I'll relocate . The real problem with counter arty is that if you are doing it or avoiding it you ain't shooting tanks so it's a bit of a trade off .

AM04ARO said: I do wonder about artillery. Do people expect you to attack the other artillery or shoot tanks? You are generally better off shooting the other teams tanks. As long as you move after each shot so that you can't be countered yourself. On a map like mines I will counter from the start though. I will have a look at obvious places while I reload every now and then.

AM04ARO said: I do wonder about artillery. Do people expect you to attack the other artillery or shoot tanks? I play a GW Typ E and concentrate on the other teams heavies....because of the ROF and also because of the amount of damage you can inflict. All things being equal I concentrate on the flank that threatens the position I am in most. Within that I will aim at the highest tier tanks aiming to chip away at their HP but if there is say an E75 with 25% and an E 100 with 75% I will try and take out the E75 as that is one less tank to inflict damage on my tanks. I hardly ever use AP rounds even though they do huge damage if you can hit someone....margin for error is just tiny though. Had a beautiful moment on Abbey last night...I one shotted an IS 7 from 100%. He was on the move down that track on the East of that map...I aimed just in front of him hoping to get him on the move...he must have gone under the arc of the round as it was incoming as I think it must have landed on the back of the tank behind the turret.

Having had a few days playing with some of the free tanks after the patch and making some money to spend on other stuff, here are my thoughts.
After a slow start I am really loving the new KV-3. As the crew skill improves and I've got some mods on it now it really is coming into it's own. Being able to one shot most medium tanks is fun and it will also damage quite a few heavy's except for the Lowe and IS-4\7's which seem almost invunerable. It's also able to soak up quite a lot of punishment but does seem to get tracked or lit up on fire quite regularly which is annoying. Overall most fun new tank.
KV-2 and T150 I am finding pretty useless, so much so in fact that I sold the T150. I am peresevering with the KV-2 but that may go soon too. The problem is being tier 6 tanks you are often placed in very high level games where they are all but useless. Too slow to scout, to weak to slug it out and the weapon damage is useless, I might as well be firing spitwads at anything tier 7 and above.
KV-1 - Still enjoying playing this tank as the crew is at 100% and I run either the Zis-6 or the trollcannon for some laughs.
Finally having had quite a bit of fun with the SU-26 and SU-5 arties I decided I would spend some of my hard earned and buy a SU-8 as bigger is better right? WRONG, what a huge waste of money this SPG is, couldn't hit the side of a barn door and the aiming time is measured in hours. It must be the sh*ttest SPG in the game. Apparently the next one up is better but that is some 120,000 XP away, can I really be bothered to grind that much XP with this piece of crap?

A Pole in a T1 just hid in a hedge for the entire match, we had our arses handed to us, just T1 and me left, I'm in MS-1 with 6 kills, 3 of the enemy left. One of theirs starts to cap, so I think T1 will go back and try to get them , nope, so I go all the way back south, on the way suffering being shot at from T1 boy, kill the cap so now 7 kills, trundle back North past his hedge, in passing say, "WTF just going to sit there?" At which point the prat shoots me again, hurls what I assume is a shed load of Polish curses at me, so I head off North again and get killed by arty whilst trying to stop the T26 from coming down to cap. Polack then gets killed still sitting in his hedge. Confess I called him a knob.

Never realised the SU-8 was so bad, looks good. I have started enjoying the Hummel again and agree with the posts to go after tanks and art, when you can.
Thanks for sharing what you do.
