I finished watching series 3 (the current, and latest) last night of Breaking Bad.

Mid way through this series I was getting really, really frustrated by it. They kept doing the most stupid of things, just when things were looking to go ok they (well, Jessie) would do something utterly idiotic and stupid and get Walt into trouble.

I don't know why, but I had to keep watching it. And then in the final one they killed the nicest guy in the world frown

It's made me a little angry this series, and I wanted to share that with the world.

Anyone else share my annoyance?!

Wait.. what?

Which series ends with (more or less..) ** SPOILER BELOW!! SPOILER BELOW!! **

Walt on the phone to Jessie (from the Lab) telling him the address of the 'other' cook', Jessie then goes to the house to shoot him.

Is that S2.. or S3?

That's the end of series 3, which I watched last night, and is the most current and up to date programme.

Series 4 starts next year (July I think).

I do wish Walt just let Jessie die on the numerous occasions he could have.

The "nicest guy in the world" I was referring to was Gale (the other cook).

Thought I'd missed a series..

I'd agree about Jessie. I guess Walt feels he owes him something though, certainly more-so after he watched Jessies OH choke to death.

Yup I think you're right. Bloody frustrating though.

I must say, I think Gus is brilliant (black boss bloke)

I completely agree. Jessie is an infuriatingly pathetic character. I didn't bother watching the last episode of series 3. I got the sense they were churning them out rather than making a great show as it once was.

Mad Men is a step above it so I'd recommend this to anyone finished with BB.

The end of the penultimate episode annoyed me (Walt running those blokes over). I actually slapped my forehead for him. You utter penis.

I loved the premis it started with - a modest guy learning the drugs trade. That was great. But it's moved on too much.

I'll check out Mad Men - thanks

The thing I've always liked about breaking bad is that you can relate to what he is doing, each decision he takes seems logical and eh always seems to think things through before acting.

Series three changed all that, I believe Walt made a decision to be more "criminal" in his dealings with the underworld. I feel, he feels that he owes Jessie because his girlfriend died. Walt's problem is that he is not willing to realise that he is a proper gangster and needs to sacrifice Jessie to ensure his own security. He has given Jessie all the chances he could and I think Jessie's time is running out for him now, Walt still needs to move forward in the business to protect his livelihood, he needs to become more responsible for the activities of Gus. Gus so far has been keeping Walt safe and Walt has fked him for it! Gus will want some form of security that Walt wont fk him again.

I quite agree - Gus has been really nice to Walt and Walt has done nothing but fk him over every chance.

Hopeflly Gus stays in it next series - I like his character!

I thought that after Walts cancer cleared up, he went through a period of not needing to cook any more and trying to put his family back together. Instead he gradually realised that what had started as a means to and end had become his life. Since he started to embrace that he has become more of a career criminal.

Not sure why people compare BB to Mad Men - MM is an awful show

Gus is going nowhere, he is Walt's only customer, were he to try to set himself up a cook site, he would still have to find a way to shift all his gear, something which he has precious little experience in. I feel that he has a lot of bridges to build with Gus to regain his trust.

It was an interesting development to say the least, I feel that Skyler played a bit of a part in that, after Hank was shot and she organised his care to be paid for. Then her attempts at getting Walt to buy a carwash and cut Saul out and launder their own money. I think these things helped push Walt to a lifestyle choice in this season that will lead to an interesting series next year.

We don't know if Gus or Gale is dead.

But he is involved in the drug trade with some very serious criminals, being nice doesn't get you anywhere.

The penultimate episode just showed how much walt has changed, where he'd shoot someone on the ground after running them over. Walt is not the same guy at the start. Guess you could call him heisenberg

I found it fascinating, by far one of the most gripping series i've seen

Gale is dead. Jessie shot him. The final scene where the camera shifted around to get the barrel in focus gave an erroneous impression that uncertainty was the aim, it was not, the creators wanted you to know that Gale is dead, no question!

Totally agree about this being the most gripping series yet, it was a slower started but boy! Was I on the edge of my seat for the last two episodes!

Sorry for not putting SPOILER Alert but if youve come this far in a thread with spoiler in the title then..... ooops.

I always got the impression they were leaving it open. Maybe not then.

Gus is returning anyway so that puts an end of it. Was hoping for series 4 sooner though!

Don't worry, I wasn't saying you were spoilering, I was warning you of impending spoilerage with my post.

I watched the episode twice when it came on, as my buddy likes to come over and watch the latest shows at mine. We had a long chat about whether Gale had been killed and found an interview from the creators apologising for the ambiguity. I only mention it to you because you might feel as though that part of the story went nowhere come the beginning of season 4.

I am disappointed that the next season is so far away, especially because it will be ineligble for the emmys and Bryan Cranston has earned himself a threepeat for the first three seasons, it would be a shame for him to have to wait for the 2012 emmys!

I can't wait for Gus' return, he has the cartel on his case and a disloyal punk (Walt!) to get in line. I think it's going to be a case of "no more Mr nice guy" with him next year! Should be good!

Apart from the insufferable Jessie, I think the show is excellent. It shows the dilemmas Walt faces really well.
