Hi yes in my c63 it is in the glovebox, this might help re the pins (took me a while to find it for you)

Hey bud.
Yeah, I know what you mean.

To explain.

The original black pins are screwed onto the end of a rod which forms part of the lock mechanism.
The rod has a fine thread on the end, to which the pins screw onto.

The black plastic pins are bonded to the thread (or just fit damn tight), I assume to prevent them from ever coming off.

I used a t-shirt and a pair of good pliers to slowly eek them loose.
When loose, I was then able to use my fingers to work them off the thread.

Now, after removing the old pin, you will notice that the rod, that it was attached to, will not be peeking out of the hole in the door exactly up-right. It will be leaning to one side.

This is where you must be careful.
You need to ensure that you have engaged the new pin to the thread on the rod exactly head on.

This will ensure that the pin screws onto the thread nice and straight.

If you do not get it lined up nicely, you will start screwing the new pin onto the thread at an angle, thus risking threading the pin, or the rod itself.

This almost happened to me.

I was lucky in being able to clean the thread out and start again.

Needless to say, I do not touch them now that they are in place!

P.S - Your "issue" with one of the doors may be the same issue I nearly had!

I got the dealer to do my door pins as part of the delivery. They said the front ones were a simple screw off/on job but the rears required complete removal of the door cards which took 2 hours!!! That said, mine is an estate which may be different - but still sounds great biggrin

As for the iPod, the media interface connector is in the roof section of the glovebox - the cable plugs in there and the other end into your iPod.
