This might be a bit of a long shot but does anyone know if there are any models of the AMD Golf? Ideally 1/18 die cast but anything would be great.

You may be able to get it in 1/43 but ive never seen a 1/18 BTCC car. The only option would be to make one.

Cheers mate, I've got no chance of making my own so I'll have to investigate the 1/43

frown Cheers mate. I doubt there will be one if no one has made one now.

Not a BTCC Golf. But "Norev" made a few variants of Mk5 Golf.

Stick it into eBay or Google.

Thanks mate but I'm specifically looking for an AMD model. The only reason being I went to the donnington race on their hospitality package and they kindly gave me one of the wheels off the car which I've made into a table. I figured a model of the car would be the perfect thing to sit on it.

Not to worry.

I think you're only hope for that, in any scale, is to get a custom code 3 of the model done. Essentially, giving a base model to a company who can strip, repaint and decal it as you desire.

It won't be cheap, but if you're after something special...

Any pictures of what you did with the spare wheel table? Tempted by something like that myself.
Cheers mate, any recomendations of companies to try? Custom code 3 just to cop cars as far as I can see.

This is the wheel they sent me, it even included some authentic BTCC dirt

There is some slight damage to the rim but it's not very noticable

I cleaned it up and removed the weights, waxed it a couple of times and had some toughened glass cut.

It's a 16 inch wheel but is over 9 inches wide so it looks pretty good I think.

The wheel was a complete suprise and I have no real need for it hence why I fancy getting a model of the real car to sit on it.

Christ, any chance of a link? I've had a look but I can't find anything

ETA - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&am...

I can't believe it's worth anything near the asking price, but I hope it is!

1500quid! he's having a laugh.
turning a wheel into a table is also a great idea, i bought a F1 (rear) alloy wheel many years ago, paid about 80quid for it (direct from Jordan), another 20quid on glass and its been an ever present in my life since! biggrin .. love the table.
its banished to the gamesroom though, but see's plenty of action beer
