Hi folks,

First time ive posted in here so apologies for my stalking qualities, however having recently acquired a new bike I am loving cycling all over again

So i have recently got my hands on a lovely Pinnacle Evolution 1.0 made by Evans Cycles (brandnew its £700+, i got it for £300 never ridden - result!)

Anyway, I also have my old bike, now its been around a bit and im really just looking for suggestions what to do with it, is there a market for stripping bikes or selling them whole?

The bike is as follows:

GT LTS 2 Frame (with new bushes)
Upgraded Fox Alps 5R Air Shock
Marzocchi Z4's
Magura DH Hydraulic Brakes
Sun Mammoth DH wheels with STX hubs
2007 Shimano LX Chain set (Hollowtech with Splined bottom bracket)
New Saddle
Recent Service
Planet X riser bars
Deore rear mech

Basically the frame is quite old, the wheels, forks and chainset are fantastic and i have no idea what to do with it?

Is it worth an Ebay post or will it fetch about £50!? (I reckon over the years its cost at least £1000)

Anyway any advice/direction greatly appreciated

Cheers

Chris

You will get more money if you strip it. Have a look at completed listings on Ebay for the various bits. You can then judge whether it is worth the hassle.

Frame and shock could well be worth a fair bit to the right person, try retrobike classifieds, and singletrackworld, bikeradar etc etc.

Yes, the frame and shock alone will fetch a fair bit, maybe £150. Definitely worth taking the time to break it and sell individual bits.

+1

Splitting will get more money (I know some "students" who buy whole bikes on ebay, and then split and sell them back on ebay and make a nice profit).
