Oil on leather shoes....

I spilt a little olive oil on my light brown leather shoes and it seems to have sunk into the leather spoiling the shoes...

Any idea how to remove it? I've tried a little diluted washing up liquid but it doesn't seem to have made any difference.

Some say - rub corn starch or talcum powder on the stain until it is absorbed.

Been looking at that.....currently making a mess in the office. I'm sure my boss won't be impressed when he gets back!
