A woman has been convicted of sexually assaulting a five-month-old baby while her paedophile boyfriend took indecent pictures of the abuse.

Tracy Dawber, 44, formerly of Southport on Merseyside, had pleaded not guilty at Winchester Crown Court.

Her now ex-boyfriend Colin Blanchard, 40, formerly of Rochdale, previously admitted being involved in the assault.

Dawber is the fifth member of Blanchard's paedophile ring to face justice.

Plymouth nursery worker Vanessa George and former prostitute Angela Allen, from Nottingham, were sentenced at Bristol Crown Court for a string of sexual assaults and making and distributing indecent images of children last year.

Tracy Lyons, a mother of nine from Portsmouth, has previously admitted two counts of sexually abusing a toddler.

Dawber, Blanchard and Lyons are due to be sentenced at a later date.

I always find stories like this really difficult to digest.

I really struggle to understand how on earth anyone can do stuff like this. I suppose being a parent makes it worse, as your mind just cannot contemplate putting your own children in that situation.

in one local nursery they said something about how the child minders would always rotate shifts so they never worked a week longer with each other

i guess it was to stop people tagging up with each other for this reason.

when i was in saudi i remember reading about some paedophile they caught and within 6 days of catching him he was tried, convicted and hanged. they gave a quote from the judge which was really rare in court cases saying the sooner these people go to hell the better it is.
