I am riding my first dressage test next Wednesday at the RDA Welwyn stables - anyone who wants a laugh more than welcome to watch.
Only an intro, still bringing on the canter at home but nowhere near ready for doing that out and about.
My wife is riding on the Connie and my son on a horse from the local riding school where he works. Much pride at stake!!
Will be my first competitive ride in over ten years can't wait. If he comes near to what he can do at home he will blitz it but instead will be wearing the body protector ready to be dumped on the floor. Anything could happen, such is the joy of horses.

Sorry no piccies but all home and tucked up for the night.
He managed not to have a meltdown, rode the test and finished with 60.43%, not great but we weren't last.
Overall a good start considering where we were 18 months ago when I got him. Mt wife beat me by about 3% and my son came 2nd in the class.

The latest addition to our family arrived today, this is Milly.
She is 5 years old, ex-racehorse. She had an accident where she got stuck in a starting gate and needed surgery, so now won't race. And a racehorse that won't race is worthless, so we gave her a home before she got sent to the slaughterhouse. Joint venture between my wife and the lady who owns the livery yard, we got Milly at no cost but we will half the upkeep costs.
She has settled in very well today, seemed to not be bothered by the other horses and went straight into her stable when led in. The plan is get some meat on her and school her for dressage.

A bit of recent action on this thread! All looking good, that wee TB mare will soon fill out with a bit of TLC Adz.
My kids are getting more and more into their BS Show Jumping and I'm Eventing a 148cm pony in the hope she will do for one of the kids in a few years.
I've just started a wee blog here: www.thelawsonponies.com if anyone would care to take a look.

Cool blog.
Funny you mention Fuel economy with the new Horse lorry, MissB goes on about the incredible fuel consumption in the Ducato Horse "van" (as I call it to wind her up). Considering the weight they carry they do really well on fuel don't they, I guess it helps that they are driven steadily due to the nature of the "payload" too
She and a couple of friends are at the Arab Horse Society Championship Show at Melvern today and tomorrow.
