Not sure if this is the right place to post this - but can't find anything else that's close -

I am a Dutch Passport holder, I got married a few years ago and now need to change my name on my passport (to make life easier as we have moved to HK and they will only put things under my maiden name as that's what's on my passport). I have got-ten in touch with the Dutch embassy and they have told me that I need to apply to the Dutch Courts to get my name changed and that I need a Dutch solicitor to act on my behalf.
Firstly - Can anyone recommend a solicitor who could do this
Secondly - Has anyone done this - and do I need to be present?

Would really appreciate any help as I have been living under my married name for 3 years now, but HK wont accept my marriage cert as proof that I've changed my name - so most of my life is under married name and now I'm having to go back to my maiden name which is starting to confuse me.....

Can you not just do a statutory declaration(or whatever they are called there) in front of a solicitor in respect of the name change? Might be a lot quicker and cheaper....

No it has to be done in a court in person (or a solicitor can go in on your behalf)...
