What is the difference between the C320d and the C350d ? And is the base engine in the C220 the C220be and the C250 the same ?

Looking to buy a used C estate but can't get a conclusive and consistent answer from the local dealer.

The 320Cdi was rebadged 350Cdi when they introduced the blue efficiency engines so you get slightly better MPG. That is the only difference as far as I know.

IIRC the BeF C200 CDI, C220 CDI and C250 CDI all use the same base 2.1 diesel with the entry level model using a single turbo and the latter two having twin turbos. The biggest worry with these is the injectors failing, which is why they have been pushing the C350s on the finance deals recently.

Injector issues were with early 2.1 BE models, (engines produced late 2009, first half 2010). They ceased production for quite a while in order to get this resolved. There is currently no injector issue with these engines. The finance push on 350 is more to do with the fact that MB have an improved version (more power, lower emissions) due for introduction across the range during the next 6-9months.
