HTC Wildfire or Android phone
Discussion
Ideally I'd like an android phone for about £20/month with internet access and calls more important than 100s of texts. My contract (£18/month internet/calls/texts) with Virgin is up in a couple of weeks and I was looking at the HTC Wildfire, although they want £25/month.
After reading a couple of dodgy reviews on the Wildfire (compared to the Desire) - is there any other android phone I should be looking at in the cheaper tariff bands?
Also - has anyone found any good deals on Wildfire etc - it's like a minefield trying to compare tariffs.
Cheers

Sounds good to me. I can't verify whether the seller is any good though.
Samsung Galaxy S on Orange - FREE!
6 months half price
Orange Dolphin 25 (24 Months)
With 300 mins & Unlimited texts + 500MB data per month
Your monthly line rental will be £12.50 per month after redemption
ETA: T-Mobile one is even better if you don't need >500 texts, not sure how Unlimited the data is though.

The Desire can be found for £25 a month, or the Widfire is £150ish on PAYG.
Mine came from http://www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk/Brands/HTC/b50...
edited to add the Wildfire can be done on TMob for £20from the same supplier http://www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk/Brands/HTC/b50...

3 has the Wildfire for £17 per month, 300 mins or texts, 500mb internet and thousands of 3 to 3 mins. £20 per month if you want 500 mins/texts. No charge for the handset with a 24 month contract.
I looked at the Desire and the other usual Android suspects, but the main issue for me was handset size and they were all bigger than I wanted so I wound up with an X10 mini pro. Does all the usual Android stuff, but also has a slide out qwerty keyboard which I really like.

Only had them 3 days so can't really say. I asked for lots of opinions from people I know on 3 before I signed as they had a bad reputation a few years ago but everyone seemed satisfied with their service
I just noticed that I had the phone model incorrect in my previous post. It was the Wildfire for that tariff. I got mixed up as I was looking at the Desire as well as the Wildfire. I hope that didn't mislead you too much as it was the Wildfire you originally asked about.

The Orange San Francisco looks good and is available for £99 on PAYG. Not sure how much Orange charges for a data top up. You could of course unlock it and get a cheaper tariff from another carrier.
Thats a cracking phone, only let down by wifi going into power off mode (and not waking up) and the camera. The screen on it is absolutely gorgeous - easily as good as the screens on phones costing 2 or 3 times as much.
