Why is it 2 minutes, not 1 minute (like it used to be) and 3 minutes? Or indeed 1 minute for every person who died? Hmmm?

Note to self: if I'm ever in paid employment again, I'll observe a 15 minutes' silence. wink

Quite so.

Remembrance day.

For those who have made, are making and will make the ultimate sacrifice for this country.

I frequently don't agree with the reasons for our intervention in other countries, and I don't always love the country either, but I have the greatest of respect for those who do.

Quite so.

Remembrance day.

For those who have made, are making and will make the ultimate sacrifice for this country.

I would probably change it to Armistice Day, since that's what today is. Remembrance Sunday is on, well, Sunday.

I was deeply unimpressed to find the silence not being observed at my university.. Felt completely wrong. irked
