It says it's 35Mhz

Hmmm, no mention of price. Dread to think how much it will cost!

It says it has GPS in the autopilot and a range of 40km. Will it be able to use the GPS to position itself when it's out of range of the radio transmitter?

If so, I'm a bit worried by the possibilities if one of these were to fall into the wrong hands. Hopefully the manufacturers will check purchasers out carefully.

One of the reviews has it at around $9000. Whether that's the Pro version (with laptop), or not, that's a goodly wedge for a toy.

Fun though. Can you beef up the engine, and add hardpoints on the wings for bomblets? biggrin

Nice.

I'd be just as happy with a cheap wing for circa 30 quid, and a camera for another 20 though

You can build these yourself for a lot less than $9000.
Wouldn't be such a finished product though.

Also the law over here for UAV's is that they must be under 7KG, must not go further than 500m from your person (Or in sight. Whichever is shorter), within 50m of a civilian and must have an R/C backup.

There's R/C systems out there that have 60km ranges. You're just not allowed by law to lose sight of your rc plane.

The above is all 'IIRC' material. Correct me if some of the details are incorrect.

27mhz is legal for both Surface and Airborne in the UK.
