really enjoyed it and wondered what costs are involved etc in having your own stuff

so far i can think of

Licence £50
Cabinet £150
Gun bag £50
Cartridges £150 for 1000
Shotgun £500 - £700

anything else i have forgot etc

do you have to have a cabinet before getting licence as seems silly buying one if they will not allow you a licence.

Are they very choosy in issuing ? i presume once i have all my bits i can go to any event without having to buy cartridges and hire gun etc

Can i shoot in private woods etc ? i.e my uncle owns a farm

I think you have most bases covered, normally to get a licence you need somewhere to shoot, your uncles farm is a good start, they will need to see his permission for you to shoot there.
You will also need referees, that sounds as if it should be fine.
You do not need to own a gun to get one, perhaps go to the local clay ground and ask their advice on the best way to go about it.

An FEO will need to visit you for an interview and to check your house and cabinet for security. It's all on your police force's website
