Anybody know where to get 1/43 scale models of the Ferrari F1 cars? Got various Minichamps models of other cars, but they don't seem to do Ferraris.

Minchamps won't do them as Hot Wheels holds the international license for Ferrari models and they sell license at a very high cost!!

There are over 30 Minichamps 1:43 Ferrari F1 models in the link I posted previously.

The O/P didn't specifically ask for new ones, just 'the Ferrari F1 cars'.

Thanks for the link, sorry should have been more specific, it is recent models I'm after. I wasn't even born when most of those were about!
What's the quality of the Hot Wheels models like? For some reason I have images of them being more toys than collectors models.

Hot Wheels generally pretty good after a shaky start. If you want (vaguely) affordable 1:43rd Ferraris, HW might be your only option. Careful though - it's a slippery slope...

They're very good.

The Hotwheels Jordan models that I have are in most cases better than the Minichamps, especially in the area of decal application, which is truly appalling on some Minichamps models.

ETA:

The 2010 Ferrari's are currently available to pre-order, including a Bahrain two car set.

When has the date someone being born been a limiting factor? You should see my F1 and Grand Prix car collection.

Couldn't agree more - of all the automobilia displayed in my house, precious little is from my lifetime. Why have a picture of Schumacher when you could have Villeneuve or Nuvolari?

Fair comment, however as I'm just starting out collecting I thought I'd limit myself to cars that I actually remember seeing on the race track. After I've reached that limit I'll have to find another before I bankrupt myself!!
Cheers

Make sure you never go to the Goodwood Revival or a VSCC meeting or you'll be really screwed!

Good spot! They are showing as pre order at the moment, but it at least means there will be something available for a reasonable price at some point in the future. Just seen that they are offering the whole collection of 56 cars for £2200!!

Chevronb37 that is one impressive collection you have there! I'll post a picture in 10 years time and I expect it still won't be as extensive as yours!

Cheers! I started collecting in 1993 when I was 9 so I guess that makes it 18 years now. There are another half dozen cars waiting to go in. Only problem is housing them - they take up so much space! Happy hunting and collecting.

I have just bought 4 great models from TK Maxx, £20 reduced to £3 EACH. I've put them in my motor sport themed downstairs loo!
