Moving to a new area, with no unbundled exchange (3500 users). No cable.

Looking for 'unlimited', which of course never is. 50-100Gb/month should be OK.

So its ADSL Max at best.

I had decided on IDNet, but have just been reading up on BT Broadband option 3 which seems to offer similar (with some extras I don't need)

Without the availability of other kit at the exchange, would it be better just to go with BT?

No good. Says there is a Fair use Policy, but the small print doesn't give any details at all.

Just been through the same thing. Went for Xilo in the end. Only go with BT if you don't want to use it in the evening or at weekends.

No real limit - where massively excessive use is spotted they use a tool which limits your speeds rather than actually caps your download.

Hmm. £36/month for broadband and inclusive calls. Doesn't seem bad - about the same as BT or IDNET. Thanks.

I was with IDNet previously, they are good. I moved at the time because they offered a lower allowance for sub 8mbit customers for the same money as 24mbit customers, looks like they've improved them though, go with them if it works for you.

I'd recomend Andrews and Arnold personally, you'll get a little more for your money providing the tariffs suit your usage (peak time runs 8am-6pm weekdays unlike IDNet).

I used o2's Access package before they were LLU in my area. It was a good service for me but like all services that sit on BT's infrastructure, very hit and miss depending on where in the UK you are - others will say it's useless in their area. The best benefit for me was that when my town went LLU o2 switched my package over with no costs and the service got even better and cheaper.

Perhaps ask neighbours and / or work colleagues when you move if they have any recommendations?
