When my eldest turned 9 she got her 1st console, a PS2, things were simple then, the PS2 was cheapish with plenty games for a 9 year old girl. Now my youngest is 9 she too is hinting to Santa for a console, but which one???

PS3 is far too expensive, Xbox 360 4gb is kind of in budget but to me there doesn't seem many girly games availiable for it? Looking at film based games, simple platform style games etc.

She already has a DS and we have a Wii for family use downstairs, can get preowned PS2's but are they still making the games for it?

Help!!

If you've got a wii and a ps3 is too expensive then get an eggbox 4gb.
The ps2 is out of production for everything so unless you chip it and install a hard drive to play saved games so you don't need to worry about wearing the laser out.

Ideally a ps3 would be best for girly games but I know a few girls who have xboxes and are happy with the available games

One of the only misses that could be there would be "Singstar" imho.
Lots of girly games on the Xbox, oh and if you buy one, take the Kinect with it (it's cheaper in the packet), it's really worth the money and provides a lot of fun (if the TV is somewhere where you can move around).
Buy a kinect and the wii will be obsolete.
