Maybe if they own a lot of shares in BP, or have a company fuel card? My dream family car would be a Cayenne Turbo and someone else footing the petrol bill! :-)It even sounds like a petrol V8 esp on start up!

The feel was probably just down to having it in sport mode. I've got a vanilla 3.0 diesel and it's docile in normal mode, but in sport the throttle is mapped very agressively in the first few mm of travel; it holds low gears to 4K rpm; starts off in first gear; seems to change gears more snappily - it feels like a different car. I don't use sport mode that often if I'm honest, as it just encourages me to drive like a lunatic, but it's fun now and again :-)

I drove my wife's to London and back Thursday afternoon/evening 200 miles each way .
Absolutely faultless, in the dark,rain and wind.....progress at 2:00 am on the M40/M6 Toll/ M6 was only limed by those few moments when the wife opened her eyes .
Jan 12 Cayenne , diesel, 19k miles.....question do we extend the warranty in Jan or go down the chipping route ...hhhmmmm ????
I find the normal electric seats - are fine, pano roof really lifts the interior, especially as my wife's car has black leather.
Bloody 4 digit post code - anyone had the update done recently to 6 digit - if so what was the cost ???

I think there is a thread somewhere on the postcode updates. Talk of it being c£200 from OPC as it cant be done elsewhere. I've already explored 'other routes'.
Mine will need doing but I did ask if the present owner could swing it with OPC given that he's just ordered two new cars off them. I doubt it but one can ask.
I very nearly bought an OPC car and whilst I didn't ask I would expect that anyone buying one should expect the firmware update in the deal given that its only a question of plugging it in for allegedly a couple of hours for the system update.

Indeed we did chum. Yes it took some finding, not perfect spec (as there's a compromise when you dont buy new), but more than good enough for what I want. It was actually the first one I looked at being a showroom conditon one owner car and (over)serviced annually at OPC by an OCD owner was good enough for me. Have a chum whose got an AMG G-wagon he keeps over in Spain. Sounds and looks fantastic, has all the gear but you cant hide the fact it was a military vehicle with doors that are externally hinged and at speed they flap to the extent you can physically see and feel the gap!

This is done as part of a major service (every 4 years) along with the oil and air filters.Fokker said:

I realise this is a diesel thread with lots of diesel love to go around but I could easily reverse the question... why would anyone want a diesel s over a turbo (?)... when the turbo is miles faster (7 secs faster 0-200kmh), brakes better, has a more distinctive & meaner look (pre-facelift at least), is more agile, sounds better, handles better (you cant get PDCC on the diesel for instance which not only improves handling and comfort but also off-road ability), and yet you can still get the thick end of 500 miles from a tank on the motorway?ZeroH said:
