AMG exhaust resonator removal?

Hi there, I've just bought a year 2000 CLK55 AMG which I'll be collecting next week. It's a fantastic car and really impressed me all round on the test drive.

I know of a guy with an SL55 AMG who removed the resonated sections from his exhaust and it sounded fantastic. Not obtrusive but just more purposeful. Is this something any of you have done and are you happy with the results?

If so can anyone recommend a suitable place to do it in the South East?
