I've always heard very good reports about this series but had never watched an episode until last night (50 Dhips - ITV 3).
I was VERY impressed - and Honeysuckle Weeks is very easy on the eye too. Any girl who can look good in a WW2 uniform gets my vote
Would it be worthwhile in splashing out on the complete boxed set of DVDs?

Foyle's War, yes, good choice. A complete antidote to modern day lack of manners.
Honeysuckle Weeks, a quote from an interview she gave to the Daily Soovy
Oh dear, almost as wrong as Chamberlain when he waved that piece of paper after meeting Hitler.

Honeysuckle Weeks said:
'Sam's very jolly hockeysticks,' she acknowledges, 'though I always wished she could have been a bit sexier. I never felt anyone would have been terribly interested in her getting her kit off.'

Foyle's War has been all the better for the producers having not rushed out a series of 13 plot-alikes, and for taking their time between series. It is programmes like this that make me annoyed at ITV. It proves that they really can still make damn good original series like this when they try. Let us hope that their improved cash flow leads to less trash, and more quality like Foyle's War that has shelf life, and can be sold all over the world.
29 in the photo, 31 now. And if she did the cut glass accent at me, I would probably explode in pleasure.

Michael Kitchen, yes superb. As capable of being the benign gentleman as the cold hearted villain. I seem to vaguely remember him as an English landowner in pre-1920 Ireland evicting people from their tenancies with a callousness that made my blood run cold. Excellent and under rated actor IMHO.
