Am considering getting a radar device - Ideally I would like one that identifies: Gatso's, speed cameras, radar traps and well, in fact as much as possible!!

Any one got any advice to dish out?!

I seem to have developed worry lines from driving too fast and a nervous twitch concerning Policemen leaping out with speed fines!

road angel. fantastic bit of kit.

Problem you will find with the S is the positionning of the fag socket. You will continually knock the power lead out with your knees.

I had a second fag lighter wired into the right hand side of the drivers footwell about half way down so I could run the lead around the side of the dash and push it nicely into the base of the windscreen so it wasnt unsightly

Hi

Ive been having a look at these recently but more for my tin top Type-R than the Tiv.

Anyway in my opinion it seems to be a pretty close race between either the Road Angel or the new Snooper neoS4

The advantage of the new neoS4 is that the laser detector is built in (seperate device on Road Angel) and the neoS4 looks nicer IMHO

Only my opinion mind, each to their own... but i reckon their my favourite... havnt bought it yet tho as i've been clear of the plod/tax cameras for a few years and finding it harder to justify.

obviously both these units are easily transferrable from one car to t'other.

know what you mean about in built laser alert. I actually have 2 so leave it fixed to the windscreen of each car and then can just lift the actual unit from each car.

I dont think the RA is the best looking of units but I did all my research before buying and it came up trumps.

And dont wait until you get points before you buy one door, bolt, horse, stable......

I didnt have any points when I bought mine, and I intend it to stay that way.

That sounds like tempting providence to me!

I just got an Origin B2 which has a seperate Lazor detector but warns of all fixed and mobile camereas , seems a good piece of kit so far. A radar detector is also available at an extra cost as is a LAzer diffuser, thought these are illegal.

I only have experience of Road Angel but can't recommend it highly enough, very useful being able to move it from car to car. Uploads are easy, it really is very user friendly.

Bought mine on Ebay, brand new sealed in its box almost £100 cheaper than in the shops - well impressed!

I'm not a computer/IT techy in any way, but don't you have to download inormation updates from the internet periodically and load this into the unit ?

Just have to load the software, connect unit to PC (lead supplied) click on icon and it does the rest, even I can do it!
