Would it be illegal to fit one of these sentry guns into every room in your house

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JvxnrzB1Jk&fea...

and tie the activation of them into your alarm system.

but instead of fitting them with paintball guns, you fit them with 1000mW blue lasers, and set them up to target the face/head

if i managed to burn/blind or otherwise maim a crook/burglar... as long as i hide the gear elsewhere before calling the filth.. would i be in the clear?

I would hazard a guess at yes it would be illegal, and no even if you hid the stuff, you would still be in the clarts

Well if it wasn't illegal I doubt I'd do it anyway, my alarm goes off randomly every now and then, not so bad considering its just noise I can turn it off and reset it,but the thought of one day having my face cooked whilst watching Tv puts me off abit hehe.

I think the laser idea is out TBH. I think the best thing for you to do, is either go with the paintball turret system, or, if you feel that isnt causing enough pain, re-program your alarm so that when something triggers it, its sets of claymore and bouncing betty mines. Still not legal, but at least the criminals cant complain afterwards

Niiiice. If i still lived in the area i used to, i would be buying a couple of these, one for the front, one for the back of the house. I have moved to a nicer area though, so probably dont need it anymore. Would be fun to see a burglar try and break into the house though

While that is a neat design, i would imagine you would still be in a world of trouble if you hurt someone badly with it, and that would only take one 'lucky' hit.

They need to change the laws in the UK, there should be no such thing as an illegal weapon, or too much force when you are defending yourself.

Lasers/blinding weapons are even banned for combat use in the Geneva convention

so, I'm not sure using them for home defence would be a sensible idea.....

Illegal weapon might be opening the doors to all sorts of things being carried by the local looneys, but i am with you on the force thing. If some scalley decides to try and rip our lass' handbag off her, why should it be illegal for me to go nuts on him? I should be legally allowed to rip parts of him out of the sockets that it was previously in

Hah. Just showed our lass that sentry gun thing, and she agreed with me it would be ace to come home, and find a burglar writhing around in pain after being blasted by paintballs.
