Ok come down this morning to find my heating off, i have a old style Baxi boiler (i know, i know) So i went outside to find my overflow covered with snow.

I cleared this and came in and lit the pilot light - it stayed on, anyway i told the GF what to do if it goes out and like a dick pressed the gas release button which promptly cut off the pilot. Now i have tried and tried and i cant get the pilot to stay lit.

Rung a friend who said i need to give it 10-15 mins or so in case the gas has built up and prevents this from staying lit but i just cant keep it lit. Its not (or shouldn't be the gas valve as i replaced this a couple of years ago.) but like i said it was fine this morning i only had a problem when i knocked it off again.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I'm fffff 'kin freezing.

Cheers guys.

Well at least the Thermocoupler isn't expensive, i just need a decent (and honest) engineer to sort this for me now.

Thanks.

Probably too late by now you will have tried this but mine goes out all the time after the first couple of tries at relighting it I have to wait a good 10 - 15 mins and then it lights and stays light. I really should replace the old girl.
