The call centres are absolutely rubbish and know very little.

A very simple question.

How can a PAYG phone work on Blackberry?

I dont work for virgin media,

but i dont understand the question...

I have an iphone4 on payg and well it works like any other phone, surely the blackberry is the same.

I had a PAYG Orange Blackberry,(for a few days before I put my contract sim in) the only difference between that and any other PAYG was that you needed to pay the £5 a month for the Blackberry internet, else it doesn't do much.

Didn't actually have it on the PAYG for long, it was just the cheaper way of actually getting the handset mid contract.

Not sure if that's any help at all.

It is specific on virgin media, the lady on the phone was saying you can't have blackberry on PAYG.

You need to get the RIM services enabled as part of the data plan, a lot of providers do not offer this on PAYG. Iphones and Android phones just use straight data and don't use the RIM network.

I am not a blackberry expert - so someone will be along to correct me soon - this is my understanding though.

I may well end up having to have my contract phone to handle all my emails then if this is the case. I know O2 and Vodafone you can have a PAYG blackberry and you just give them £x a month for the service.
