This afternoon I have finally had it with my HP all in one printer. Its always been a bit flakey communication with my macbook (worse with my macbook pro, than the older mac book we have) but today it appears to have finally packed up I cant even raise a function out of it connected by usb!. I need a reasonably priced, reliable all in one that will run on my wireless network talking to my 2 macs, one of which is still running tiger, the other on snow leopard. I dont do a huge amount of printing, but often scan docs for storage and email. I used to have a canon which worked well but was not wifi enabled.

Any tips gratefully received.

Just bought one of these on behalf of the gaffer: epson. Slow, but seems good enough for the money.

ETA. He uses it very little and is easily pleased. rolleyes
There may well be better out there.

Samsung do some very good home office colour laser multi functions.

Cost a bit more than ink jet but if you don't use that often then at least the ink does not dry up, and you can usually get 3000 + pages (not photographic) on a set of cartridges so in the long run better than ink jet.

Just bought a Brother MFC 5490 to replace a MFC240 it does the job and fits the 'ole on the shelf which no others do. The last one lasted nearly 3 years despite hard use and carts don't cost a fortune. I'd certainly recommend one.
