Fallout new vegas Feedback
Discussion
Sorry if one has been posted.
There are quite a few Fallout fans on PH so i was wondering what people liked from new vegas and should be kept and expanded on and, likewise, what stuff is superfluous and should be scrapped.
+ the fact that your companions dont die, they simply fall unconscience. Too many times in Fallout 3 have i been walking along minding my own way when i get the message that one of my companions is dead.
+ The different ammunition - bit daft when you have the anti-material rifle but upto then its pretty useful. I found the stats (DAM, DPS, etc) a bit confusing first time out but you quickly learn to shoot the buggers till theyre dead.
+ the food not being instant HP
- The fact your companions get lost. Ive lost count how many times ive lost them only to find them stuck in a room or walking backwards into the wall.
- The type of missions. They all tend to be -speak to him - speak to her - go back speak to him - go back speak to her - speak to him - make a choice - kill one or other
- recycling ammunition. i never did. I just bought more. All the various ammo cases just filled up my inventory.
- The mission structure itself was confusing. I like the fact you can choose between different story lines but i found the whole thing to be a bit tedious this time round. Most of the time i would be doing a mission thinking 'is this going to help me out with the NCR or the Legion?'
- My reputation was the highest on the good side, yet i stole everything and killed everyone that wasnt part of the story. I even ate all the bodies. Often in front of people.
theres more but just enough to get going.

I will say;
+ Modifying weapons (I love scopes and silencers)
+ Different ammo types - makes it more interesting, a nice Hollow Point round into an unprotected head etc..
(I have heard that you can add poison to spears and throwing knives as well, but haven't tried that yet)
+ Different factions
- Not being able to create your own weapons (no doubt someone will tell me you can, but I loved F3 collecting the parts and making my poison dart gun etc)
- The tasks/quests tend not to be as good as F3 (but then you are a courier....)
- The buildings were not as large as F3 (by and large)
- The map seems smaller to me overall than F3
- The walking around with glass walls..
