Weird monitor problem

My monitor (24 inch Edge10) is all of a sudden playing up since this morning.

It just goes to a black screen, either at logging in, working in windows or just surfing the web. The green light in the corner stays green, so the monitor isn't actually shutting off.

The only way to solve the problem is to press the little power button, turning green light to red, and then switch it on again, and it's fine again.

And it can either stay fine for an hour then, or for 5 minutes. Really weird.

Also, according to my desktop my resolution is 1920x1200 60HZ, but if i press the menu button of the monitor it states 1920x1200 59.8 HZ.

Any idea's what might be going on here ?

See this fault on an almost daily basis - sounds as if the backlight is going...

When the screen goes black, can you still see the display but very faintly??

Nope, goes completely black in an instance, can't see anything at all. And it's getting on my nerves now.

I'm pretty sure its your backlight. The fact that the green lights stays on proves its not a power fault.

Is it a new monitor? It might be under warranty?
