Be aware of this ebay scam from buyers
Discussion
Item ordered, buyer thinks of some reason to ask for a part refund either late delivery or not as expected - with me so far
For an easy life you agree a few £ back or whatever
Buyer send a paypal money request through to you - DONT PAY IT
If the buyer gets the money request paid and then does a full claim they will end up with MORE THAN THEY PAID as paypal will refund the full amount plus you have given them a bit more.
Its more common than you think and mainly from the same area and the same demographic we have had two this week and it makes me want to pull ebay for a month or so - I may still do so.

Crikey, that old chestnut?
You NEVER refund anything by ANY other means than the original payment with paypal or credit/debit cards.
We had one recently that told us 'he had a new card, so refund to that instead', etc. etc. He actually got quite shouty when we refused to refund a different card to what he paid with.
He eventually went away with a flea in his ear.
I'm surprised you fell for that one though, it's the oldest trick in the book.
Talk to your paypal account manager though, they might be able to claim back the 'extra' payment for you.

Annoying isn't it.
I had one recently where I sold an old clunky laptop. Sold as faulty & accurately described the behaviour. (Random shut down due to battery/charging probs).
A matter of hours before the Paypal deadline, the guy opened a 'not received' claim (hoping that I'd thrown away the tracking info by then). Then when I had the tracking info, changed his mind to 'not as described'.
His problem? "It's shutting down & I can't fix it... " err yes. That's why it was sold as faulty you muppet! And THATS what the description said.
But with Paypal usually taking the buyer's side, I did a partial refund to make it go away as my time has a value.
With the timing of his claims, it was very apparent that he was working the system, giving me minimal time to respond.
But to echo DSL's advice, only ever do a partial refund as part of the Paypal dispute process once they've indicated they'd be happy with that. It then automatically closes the dispute & they can't reopen it.
On a side note, I bought some stuff for a client via DSLiverpool. Top bloke, good advice & a happy end user.![thumbup](/inc/images/thumbup.gif)
