roof lugs

anyone succesfully drilled out a broken roof lug i have one that has snapped i can drill the plastice side bits off but how do you get the steel part out without damanging the panel ?

i have some pictures of it being done but not how ,
also one of the other lugs has cracked the panel i was going to glue and clamp it ,what is the best glueing material to use ,i have tried araldite before but it doesn't strees to well

yes just done all eight in the roof, Worked a treat.
I have detailed instructions and pictures of the job at various stages.But the bottom line is you have to be carefull to peel back the traga and leather material, before drilling. Then to remove the lugs. Mark there position before drilling and with a 2.5mm drill bit, drill all around each lug (30mm deep). Then get a hammer and mole grips and with some gental tapping the lug will come out. As for sticking them in I used fast glass resin from Halfords, sets in 1/2 hour so you can do the whole roof in a day. Then restick targa and leather back and fit to car. All sounds easy, but I did have a little problem fitting the panels back on the roof. As I have fitted new hoop seal and releathered the inside of the pannels.
