Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a model Concorde for a friends xmas present...Bit late, but i have been asked if i could find one.
Would like a good quality, nicely finished model, and not a kit.

Any links or personal reviews would be much appriciated.

At work all day, but will check back here later....

Thanks

Found this on Amazon, looks...cheap enough!

Also this one on the same page:

I've got the 1970's version...it's not great.

Anyone you know going through Schiphol in the next few days. The shop is out in Schiphol Plaza.

There are some DieCast models at Modelzone. But you would need to check your nearest shop

In eBay, go to: Collectables > Transportation > Aeronautica > Concorde
then type 'model' into the search box.

Should find everything from 1:250 scale to HUGE!

chers all....

this might be the best bet so far.

looks like some fairly nice ones there.

Not sure on scale really... but will consider any depending on quality. and price, well, its my mates missus who is buying it, but i guess circa £100.

This one stands out, as it was apparently sold on board. So might be nice to have : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BA-British-Airways-CONCORDE-...

And this one looks nice too.

A 19 inch long Concorde is a bit of a funny scale - 1/128.

In 1/100 scale it should be a whisker over 2 feet long.

Concorde fullsize is 203ft 9in long (62.17m) and 83ft 10in (25.56m) wingspan. Sometimes eBay listings give only the size so you have to work the scale out for yourself. Sometimes they don't even give the size so you have to ask!

I've created a little spreadsheet with dimensions of all the popular airliners and how big they'd be in all the popular scales. Saves me a lot of time when I'm looking at a 180mm wingspan Airbus A300 and they haven't said what the scale is.

(1/250 is the answer by the way, so I can ignore it as I only collect 1/150 and 1/200.)
