I'm old. I flew as a commercial passenger in a DC3. Can still hear the engine's deafening roar (to me) as we flew from Southampton to Jersey. Nice photo, but the colours are just a tad too bright for period.

What's interesting is that the 1944 picture is clean and sharp totally unlike the one's we try to make look old!

Nuthampstead. The leaning oak tree is the crash photo is still there and has hardly grown! :
