I mentioned a week or so ago that i own the mbuk zaskar. Thought id post a few pics as some folk (like me) love the retro looks and some hate it.

Nice, I entered the comp to win it!

I know it's changed hands since so I guess you bought it, I wouldn't be so crass as to ask you what you paid, but if you feel the need to vent wink

Do you use it, or is it 'too nice to ride'?

mmm
Purple anodized bits and the yellow forks ! they are very retro cool. It needs flat bars for that true retro feel!!

I also have one of the Zaskar re-issue frames waiting to get some bits thrown at it, so seeing this bike again gives me some ideas.

Either way this bike deserves to sit in the living room.. dirty or clean whatever the GF says!

yeh im gonna use it thats for sure. just waiting until a bit better weather. ive ridden it once, and it took ages to clean it again. mud doesnt bother me but salt is bad. Roll on summer.

I always disliked the Zaskar, looked cheap and nasty in chrome with the overly fashionable gigantic downtube.

I've owned my 2000 Zaskar X since new.hehe

Lovely bike you've got there.

That is absolutely lovely and has re-kindled memories of me as a lad gazing longingly at the GT, Trek and Parkpre mtbs in my local bike shop. cloud9

I had a GT Outpost at the time that I added bits and bobs too, ahhhh happy days.......

I used to love my Zaskars, my first was with the original horseshoe rear brake that got clogged at the first hint of mud.
Second one was a 94 model that I kept for 7 years, had rock shox SL titaniums (remember those?), blue anodized cooks racing cranks with Pace chainrings, synchros cattlehead stem and a full XTR group for everything else. That thing was indestructable and I miss it loads, sold it to fund Uni life and I really regret it.
