Great Idea!! I love the shot of the eurofighter! Stunning colours.

2010 has been a steep learning curve for me, as i only bought my DSLR in march. So in no particular order.

1: Spitfire and P51 mustang

2: little Egret

3: Chalckhill Blue

4: Fallow Doe, Petworth park

5: Blades Display Team

Hmm harder then i thought, there are some images that i really like that i have missed out. As such the above are subject to change hehe .

Thanks DD, moments after i took this a lady walked up to the group of deer from the opposite direction, snapped a shot on he phone and walked straight through the middle of them, causing them to leg it furious . This was despite me being crouched in clear view pointing a 400mm lens at them, so it was pretty clear what i was doing. Some people ey!

Love your shot of a bee! i'm gussing it was either very cold or dead when you took that? hehe

You started in March and have a 400mm lens !? Woah - that sounds like some big spending for early days hehe

No - the bee was very much alive and it was a warm day! Had the ringflash on so was shooting at 1/200 + F16 I think - quite a big crop as well if I recall correctly smile

hehe i know, its a sigma 120-400 so not expensive for a lens of that length, but still quite a bit of money! I had used a bridge camera for a year or so before, and had definatley been bitten by the photography bug! I new i wanted to photograph birds and wildlife, so needed a long lens. Definatley not a decision i regret!

Great idea! Five is hard though, but these I believe are the chosen ones.

Night drive in the Welsh mountains:

D300S ISO200 10mm f9 1/4sec (5 shot composite lit with hand held flash)

Space Shuttle launch:

D300S ISO200 20mm f10 30sec

E Type at Oulton Park:

D300S ISO400 70mm f8 1/320sec

Disney!:

D300S ISO200 14mm f25 15sec

and finally with some friends at Classic Le Mans.

D300S ISO200 13mm f14 1/13sec

Been a great year. Next year I'm off to the Alps in the Porker, so I hope to add some real keepers from that journey.
Happy New Year to all! smile

Edited to include basic exif info

I’ve actually struggled this year with photography, as I seem to have become so very self critical! So my 5 are...

1. Because when I look at it big ( clicky) I feel like I'm there:

2. Because it was very hard work to get, it's my GF's favourite, and I was contacted by the PR firm representing the drilling company, who wanted to buy it (I rejected as they wanted the copyright):

3. Because it was a busy day and I got some insane looks while taking this (standing under the doorway fiddling with filters and lenses, pointing straight up, and taking about 30 shots hehe:

4. Because I tried loads of times to get a good capture of this view, and this shot needed almost no PS at all:

5. Don't know why - just like it!
