about 3 years ago I bought a Cartier Must de Paris ladies watch for my wife - it has 1CT/52 diamonds on/in it and it is beautiful!

However - my wife doesnt really like it and has never worn it so I would like to sell it - where is best - I am in London 3 days a week.

I paid £900 for it and am not greedy - but would like to make a small profit.

You could try Blowers.

Edit, sorry they're in Yorkshire not in London. Might be worth calling them for an estimate though...

Sell to a dealer & only one of you will be making a profit wink

There is a classifieds section here that's free.

I did watch selling all wrong last time...

Bought a brand new watch for £1250 and ended up selling it for £730 about 1.5 years later in good condition.

Was still more than the dealer was offering but the bloke on the other end got a really good deal.

But not impossible, changes in exchange rates and the relative desirability of the model may realise a small profit.

Is the watch rare/limited edition (and not a limited edition of x thousand)/otherwise "interesting"?

If not, you can expect to lose anywhere from a third onwards of the value, especially on a watch that cost £900.

Expect to get bummed, basically, and add bonus bummage for quartz.

Worked example:

I have an Omega Planet Ocean, purchase price £1700 (list £2150, discount for cash at a local jeweller), current list purchase price £2380.

If I were to sell it, I'd be happy with £1500. Which is £200 down on what I paid and £650 down on list price.

Now do the sums for a watch that lists at less than half that.

I reserve the right to be comprehensively wrong, though.

Ladies watches are a poor investment. New ones moreso.

Right reserved...but more than likely not needed. £5-600 would be max I think.

Is that £900 new? How is a watch that only cost £900 new going to make a profit?

If its something flash and £900 was a good secondhand bargain then maybe.
