So, the Mrs, has over the last couple of weeks, been having 2 or 3 telephone conversations with a possible client who is interested our business. Today, on Facebook, he was suggested, by Facebook, as a friend. This guy is not a friend of any of her friends and he hasn't approached the Mrs to become a friend himself. How does this happen?

Does she have his e-mail address stored as (if allowed by the user) facebook will check your e-mail address book, msn contacts etc and then show up any people that you have in there as a friend suggestion.

I'm not exactly sure how it works it was just a guess at how he appeared on her suggestion list, Facebook tends to share a lot of things that some people don''t realise.

I'm not sure what the default security settings but I would get to her to check her settings, click on account -> privacy settings -> customize settings. From here you can control what it shares with who.

There's a Friends Finder thingy, you put in your Hotmail/Skype/Yahoo/etc. email and password and it does something clever and invites them, or something like that.

She would've had to have used this at some point before for it to get the address this time.
