There was an XR4x4 with the 2.0L DOHC engine and I seem to remember that there was a 2.0 XR4 version, both around 1990. These followed on from the old 2.0 GLSi with the Pinto engine.

Correct, bloke I worked with in the ninetys had a silver 5door 2.0L twincam XR4i
Which seemed to be a boggo Sierra bar the badging.

wouldn't a cosworth also come back as 1993cc or would it say 1993 turbo?
It would come back as 1993cc but the cosworth wasn't produced until 1986. Could be an XR4i with a cosworth engine or a base 2 litre 3 door shell.

It's not a XR4i if it's only 1993cc.
Although much later than 1983 they did do a five door 2.0L XR4i.
Indeed. I had much the same car, badged as a GLS. 92, twin cam with 30mm dropped progressive springs & a K&N. It went quite well & much fun was had.

Thinking about it, I think some markets had 2.0 turbo XR4is as well.

You are possibly thinking of the Merkur XR4Ti with the 2.3 motor.

I had the 2.9 GLS and removed the 4x4 badge, lowered it and used to upset the local XR4x4 owners biggrin

Cartell says it's a Sierra L. So most likely that base-spec 3dr, though I'm not sure they were available here with a 2-litre engine so presumably someone in the past was honest and notified DVLA of an engine capacity change.

I guess its not there any more?

anyhow, lots of Lotus Europa's at least 3 type 74/special outside alone, also many other special sport cars, all neglected for a long time, what a waste, a 'barn-find' in plane sight, or how you name such.

This poor thing is at the bottom of the Falcon rollercoaster in Duindell Theme Park, near The Hague, Holland. Unsurprisingly, I received much abuse from my wife and daughter for taking such interest! I can't remember the site to check when this was last licensed, but it looks like it has been there a while...
