The uber rare 2.0L, but with a manual gearbox!;)
The low front corner is due to the spring for it being in the boot!
It is also absolutely solid, no welding needed!
Had to jack it up to move it about and we used all four jacking points without any issue.
It doesn't look it, but it is scruffy, really scruffy!
Mmm 200 uber rare ? - 200D and 250 much rarer. And a fair few 200s had manual gearboxesThe low front corner is due to the spring for it being in the boot!

That car is the post 1980 facelift (smaller headrests) but I think, pre '82 facelift (so doesn't have the circular vent holes in the wheels). That is a fantastic car. My dad had an '81 200 with a manual (4 speed) box back in the day - classic white, blue cloth. It was just so majestic. These things are now worth big bucks in top nick.

I agree with Tali1 - the other rarely seen W123 was the 250. It was a lovely smooth old thing with the 6 cylinder engine, but expensive, thirsty and slow.

Don't think the 200D made it to the UK.

That Avantgarde car looks a very similar spec to mine, Y reg, manual and factory sunroof That car is the post 1980 facelift (smaller headrests) but I think, pre '82 facelift (so doesn't have the circular vent holes in the wheels). 11k and they couldn't even align the wing
My late father-in-law hit on (for him) harder times in the late 70's and traded down from RR's to firstly a Jensen Healey and then the cheapest 4 pot petrol Merc (don't ask me what model it was) kept it for a couple of years and went and bought the cheapest 200 diesel finished in an orange shade. I used to drive this regularly, and yes it was embarrassingly slow off the lights and probably (for the late 70's early 80's) rather firmly suspended. Oddly the car was rather endearing in it own way and driving it put you in to a different and laid back world. dbdb said:

Jeez, not much wonder it's been abandoned, what a horrible looking thing; I honestly thought it was a (bad) kit car. I'd never heard of Strosek so Googled it. The other stuff they turn out is equally, er, odd. Full story here:
