Volvo queries

Evening all and a happy new year.I have a couple of queries which I would like to put out there.

Firstly quite frankly the standard headlights on my S70R are ste.The reflectors are fine and I have fitted brighter bulbs which have helped a little but they are still poor.Im carefully considering fitting an HiD kit in the hope this is the answer without spending too much ?


I want to flush & change the gearbox oil in my autobox using something decent like Castrol or Valvoline.My local Halfords does not stock anything other than there own or I could go to Volvo but im told its very expensive and I need 12-15lt.Where do you go to get yours ?

I had the geartronic box on my T5 flushed recently .

You do indeed need approx 12 litres to do the job and you must ensure you use the correct fluid, have a search on the volvo forums , there are lots of threads about this.

I also saw on a volvo forum that Vauxhall "branded fluid" is the same as the volvo recomended , but instead of circa £11 / litre is about £7

Thanks yes I need Dexron III but I am struggling to find somewhere to buy some decent oil.
