And I'm far too excited over a phone lol.

Then again this will be my first smartphone so hopefully a top-line droid will be fun. I'm a little concerned it will be too large as a phone and too small for anything else, but lets see biggrin

So out of the plethora of accessories etc, what do I need?

I'm assuming some sort of case, screen protector, car charger and car mount?

Make sure the car charger is 1A, not 500mA like most.

Aside from that, get reading the HTC Desire thread, it's a little long but a gold mine of useful info on all things Android.

Watch out for paint chipping around the indentation in the body for taking the battery cover off. My friend had this problem a couple of days after getting his.

But other than that, it's been a fairly top phone.

Oh that giant thread was a big indication of what I should be getting lol. I've skimmed most and will have a closer look once it makes more sense biggrin

A spare charger to use at work, since it'll likely not make it through the day on a charge biggrin

I've got mine arriving tomorrow morning, a free upgrade from CPW. smile

Same as the OP I think it might be a bit big for me seeing as I already think my current Nokia 5800 is big enough, but it'll be fun to play with it.

The main decider for me was the HD video recording, something the Nokia doesn't do.

Oh, and it's not an Apple product smile

Got a vanilla Desire rather than the HD, but for an in car mount build your own - order a hard case from the bay (should cost about £1 from HK) and a Garmin sat nav mount (about £5.) Superglue together and voila! A cheap, sturdy mount for the phone that'll have the ability to video roads etc (Daily Roads Voyager is a great little app for that purpose too) and rotate between landscape (for satnav) and portrait (for everything else.)

Havent seen one yet but believe you can buy a standalone charger for charging your phone AND has a slot for charging a spare battery too, so you can carry spare power about with you. Always handy with this phone, or so I've heard/read.
