The post code is LE9 9JT, the OH may have a job offer with relocation there. Anyone know of any nice village locations around there?

Most of the villages around there are OK, but avoid Earl Shilton, Barwell, Desford and Coalville.

If it was me, I'd be looking at Ibstock, Heather (pronounced Heether), Market Bosworth, Kirkby Mallory.

for a petrol head, mallory is a mile or so away.

It's all fairly nice there, a lot will depend on budget.

Budget would be an absolute max of £130k, which up here in North Lincs buys us a lovely large 3bed semi with a massive garden and kitchen and off-street parking, I'm starting to see that may be a problem down there.

130K will get you a 2 bedroom terrace if you are lucky.

Ooooh, I like that.

You might have just cost me a lot of money.

Cheers!

Good luck with the job. Nice company to work for. I work at the engine plant in Peterborough.

No mortgage assistance in the package to ensure you get like for like?

I had that for 5 years on a previous relocation to a more expensive area.

The package is still being discussed, the only thing that has been mentioned was a "relocation package" but I'm not sure what it covers.

I'm Leicester born and bred and I agree with Mr Maggit. But you need to think about what you really want. There are some very nice villages that have (almost) no amenities, or do you want a larger village/small town with some shops etc? Sapcote/Leire could be the former and Cosby the latter. There are some very nice places in the sandwicch between the M69 and M1.

How far away are you willing to consider? There are some very nice houses in Kirby Muxloe.

Stay well away from Hinckley and Nuneaton.
