Whats wrong with this Corsa?

So the mothers 2002 Corsa is playing up, the diagnostics place isn't sure why, they have in the past replaced the dash and a few wires (mothers words not mine)

Symptoms:

Sometimes immobiliser wont disengage and engine starts then cuts out.
Sometimes car doesn't start at all
Sometimes car starts but dash has no power and ALL gages and speedos etc are dead. This sometimes lasts a while, sometimes they burst into life after a few miles.

whats wrong? before she gives it to the garage AGAIN.

Connections at the back of the dash binacle aren't quite secure enough. Place both palms flat on the clear plastic and press down firmly and it should restart. I believe vauxhall have a modified clip for the multiplug on the dash which holds in in better.
