Teaser 2: More Glimpses Of The New Pagani

A new video and more wind-related oddness from Pagani

Oooo... It's a handbrake...
Oooo... It's a handbrake...
No sooner have we shown you a teaser video showing little more than a man drinking some espresso, than part two of Pagani's frustrating teaser campaign for the Zonda replacement is revealed.

The new clip doesn't exactly show a great deal, but it does provide a few tantalising glimpses of the car's interior, which is better than a man supping a cup of boiling caffeine solution.

Yesterday we also revealed that 'Huayra', the word for wind in an ancient native South American language, is a possible candidate for the new car's name, but web rumours also suggest another possible candidate - Deus Venti.

Apparently this is the domain name from whence emanates the Pagani teaser videos and, roughly translated from Latin, means 'god of the winds'. Of course, this could also be an oblique reference to what 'Huayra' refers to...

All (hopefully) will be revealed soon...

This drip feeding of information, which now seems commonplace, is tiresome. The fact that a bunch of polo-necked, ipad-ed, bespectacled twunts think they're being innovative with their marketing makes it all the more irksome

Is that supposed to be the shape of the body?? it almost looks like one is on top of the other and back to front... if that makes sense, like a pagani sandwich. lick

Agreed, I'd rather they release the full spec and pictures in one go so you get that immediate "wow" effect rather than have to mentally build an image of it over a period of months!.

Meh. Looks like that after market Momo monstrosity you see adorning the hand brake lever of Fiat Coupes and Alfa GTVs.

The Italians are supposed to be stylish but they created a hand brake lever accessory that looks like a refugee from a marital aids catalogue.

A shiny, silvery hand brake lever says what exactly? I like stopping? I always make sure my car is properly parked?

Seems to work though - you and everyone else clicked on it to see what it is, otherwise you wouldn't be reading this comment. wink

Seconded. I'd expect that anyone fortunate enough to be in the position to buy the new Pagani will buy one because their heart tells them too - it's not a 'practical' or necessary purchase. They will have already made that decision and these stupid little 'teasers' won't make a difference. For the rest of us, you could say the annoying videos and pictures we're shown hold even less relevance. They don't build up any sort of anticipation, they're just friggin' irritating. All we want to know is what it looks like, how fast it is (and all the rest of the nerdy stats about the car), how it handles and what it sounds like, not watch a man drink a coffee (yesterday's idiotic 'teaser') or sit through the results of someone mucking about with depth of field on his video camera. Rant over. Grrr. I do love Pagani though. winklaugh

Lovely details. It looks like it may be a touch more restrained - brushed metals and aged leather. Has to be far classier than the previous chrome and mirrors vibe.

Maybe from the perspective of us news junkies on PH, but as a marketing strategy it's very good. Get the rumours circulating, build up tension over time as testing continues to make potential punters think twice before opening their wallets for anything else (probably not that most Pagani owners do consider anything else, but there will certainly be a few overpaid rappers who fall into the category of 'automotively fickle', even with this many zeros on the RRP).
