Interested to hear from 2009/10 2.0 Sport Tech owners..... What's the car like to live with? What sort of mpg do you get in the real world? Is the stereo good? How's the ride quality day-to-day? Build quality any good? Does the interior rattle? What's it like at 70-80 on the motorway - road roar a problem? Is it quick enough to have fun? Is oversteer on demand a reality? or only in wet conditions?

This is my 4th MX5 so I guess you could say I like them.
According to Computer I am averaging around 32mpg (but it does see the redline now & again!)
Stereo is OK.
Hands free phone is next to useless, its a soft-top so its a bit noisy.
Minor rattle in door which I will get sorted at its first service in March.
Mine seems to understeer more than I would like, I think a visit to WIM could be on the cards for lowering & alignement check.
Still trying to convince myself 6K is worth spending on the BBR conversion, although their buy back offer this week makes it more tempting!

Bought mine in August last year. Swapped my 08 Alfa spider 2.2 for it, which was a great looking car but no performer. Had thought about an MX for a while so I went for a test drive and that was it, just felt so good and made me smile. It had all the equipment of the Alfa, but much more fun to drive. The BOSE is very good on all roads M, A's and B's, and you can play MP3/IPOD's. The bluetooth phone is excellent and easy to use. No creaks or noises in the cabin apart from road noise but come on it is a rag top.

Had ours for just over a year, it replaced an '06 1.8. Its everything we wanted it to be, reasonably sprightly, seems no more thirsty than the 1.8 and the handling with the Bilsteins and LSD is a great improvement. We have the soft top which is a doddle to use and isn't overly noisy and its very well built with no obvious rattles unlike an Alfa Spider we had prior to the previous MX5. Get one, you'll love it.

Living with the car has so far been pretty good, I've had it just over a month and don't hate it yet!
I'm 6'2" and fit in perfectly, if I were any taller I'd have to 'scrunch' up but I'm on just the right size of fitting comfortably.
If you are concerned with boot size then I can get about 10 full shopping bags in with a bit of room to spare, not bad considering how big the car is(n't).
I did am eight hour M-Way trip just before Xmas, felt reasonably fresh afterwards although my ankle was a bit achy, apart from that impressively comfortable.
ive a mk3 sport and have averaged 33mpg on a run with the roof up and 27-30 with the roof down on a run. done over 1k in the last week in it and havent felt bad once. certainly isnt a volvo in terms of comfort but then its a sports car.

Have a 2011 Sport Tech coupe. Got it 4 weeks ago. So far so good. Fuel consumption is in the balance, mostly been top down so not expecting any more than 28 on mixed roads. Ride is really refined but on the soft side. Steering is fine, handling good. Performance ok, not fast but I get it when they say it's not about the speed with these. Kit is fine, Bluetooth good. I would say that the time of year has a real bearing on the asking price of these, if you can wait then winter will save you something for sure. Heated seats mean you can drive top down even when a bit chilly. Brakes good but by far the best thing about this car is the gear change. I had a 1.6 Mk2 years ago and it is just the same, beautiful.
