Hi All

Picking up a Mk2 Focus on Saturday and am toying with the idea of replacing the standard Ford 6000CD as shown here

with something else that i can control the music on my iPhone through.

My problem is I'm very anal about the way the car looks and don't want anything that will leave gaps, or have to have tacky plastic housing around it to make it fit.

I'm a complete novice when it comes to car stereos so assume I have nil knowledge smile

Thanks!

Looks like a standard double DIN unit will fit; there are lots out there - probably a Kenwood, Alpine or JVC if you want a quality unit.

That's what I thought. Went on Halfrauds website and found a nice looking double din unit but it says I'll need some piece of crap plastic housing to make it fit.

Confused...

I have one of these in my truck. http://www.kenwood-electronics.co.uk/products/car/...

That model is discontinued but there is a newer one out. Can't fault it!!

Wrong. The Ford unit is 1.5DIN - a double DIN won't fit as there's a lump of heater in the way.

Single DIN & tailored fascia it is then.

That's odd as Halfrauds site says Double DIN will fit with a plastic housing. Think I'll just have to pop in and see someone about it...

Hmm..seems the Focus will take a Double DIN. My apologies. Must be more room behind the Focus dash than the Mondeo.
