Help, are there are any slightly more economical V6s?

As above really, im runing a Ford Cougar V6 and im only getting around 20 mpg, this is how i drive as well but i was wondering are there any more economical v6's even when i drive mine 'nice' i still struggle to see any more then 25 to the gallon. I live on the Isle of Wight so never guna get great mpg.

You could slightly more fun with the same MPG ..

Obviously a smaller capacity engine (as per previous post) or lighter car (e.g. 1-series) would help.

I get about 28-29 mpg from my ZS180 on a 30 mile (each way) commute. If you don't mind a relatively old car, a Mazda MX3 returns pretty good economy from it's 1.8L V6. Performance isn't exactly mind blowing though.
