Quite a well written article.

Now I've got wheelspin, so I'm downshifting, bum back on the seat, redistributing my weight to eliminate the slipping of the rear wheel as I crest the summit.
Gears, at night? Poofter eh? Needs to get a singlespeed. wink

It's difficult to put into words just how much fun riding a bike with a group of people can be. Do you remember being a kid, coming home from school, getting changed, and then racing out on your bike to be with your friends?
Definitely that! I remember starting back on the MTB at the beginning of 2009. I'd not ridden since before I had a mortgage - the exhilaration of getting an adrenaline rush, without also doing less than 10mpg at the time was intoxicating. Nice to be reminded of that. biggrin

The local paper is a knee jerk sensationalist, lazy journo pile of rubbish but they have 2 blogs by cyclists, this one , which is quite good and one by a commuting cyclist which seems to focus on having a good whine about evil and uncaring motorists and stupid cyclists with no lights and jumping red lights.

To be honest the commuter cyclist one makes me want to use a large 4x4 on his bike every time I read it.

Sounds like our local paper which is little more than a Saints fanzine in disguise. For example "Saints fan murdered in Thailand"rather than Southampton resident.......!
